![]() Now since you're playing on emulator, I'd recommend using these patches for 2-5 and this patch for 6. Network Transmission doesn't have any event exclusive things so no need to worry about that, and most of those event exclusive things are just powerful chips that kinda break early-game bosses. But if you're not worried about that stuff that's cool too, original hardware works just as well if you have the cartridges. ![]() What system are you playing these on? I'd recommend Wii U or emulator, as the Wii U versions (aside from the first game) have a feature that lets you get some content that was event-exclusive which can affect unlocking various other content in the games, and there are patches for the ROMs that add these features to the GBA versions. I double checked the Rockman EXE Zone wiki to confirm what versions the glitch affects. The glitch doesn't happen when playing on GBA, DS Lite, Game Boy Player, or Wii U. It's also a sidescroller that neatly incorporates the battle system from the main games and adjusts it to work in a sidescrolling environment.Īs for the bug that was mentioned, that only happens when playing the game on the original DS via the GBA slot and happens to both games. Network Transmission is effectively 1.5, it takes place between the first and second games. Comparable to Red/Blue as you had mentioned.Īs was also mentioned, only 5 has a canonical version (Colonel) as events in 6 make more sense if Colonel was the game played previously. Yeah the plots are the same overall, minus some Navi differences and chips you get. I also got a NGC game of Battle Network (Network Transmission I think) years ago from the flea market, how does it slide into the timeline? I may play this one too.Īlso if you have some general tips on those series or some things to be cautious of, I'm willing to take anything! I also don't know if there is a kinda "canonical" game each time since they must refer to older games sometimes? Or just a 'better version' for gameplay convenience. Is it completely different and they're two different games? (more similar to SMT:Devil Children or the Oracles games of Zelda) Is there some little differences regarding the plot/big bads guys? (Similar to Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire for example where the evil team is different and the legendary aren't the same) Is there Chips or NetNavis (and whatever equivalents there are in StarForce) exclusive to one or another? (Kinda like Pokémon Blue/Red) Is it purely cosmetic and have no impact whatsoever in the game? What's the actual differences between those versions ? However, from what I gleaned over the years it's that from BN3 onwards, all the games are in two versions (and Star Force in three versions?), akin to Pokémon. So yeah, I wanna start all this, it's going to take me a lot of time compared to the more classical games but why the heck not. There's zodiac-themed thingy? Like Leo and Aries I think?). I know next to nothing of Star Force, though (Omega-Xis? EM Waves? And. So I kinda know the general gist of this series. 30~40 minutes of BN1 and I watched the anime when I was a kid too. So what's left to play is Battle Network and Star Force (And Legends but I'm doing that later), I haven't played very much of BN. ![]() I recently finished X8 in the Legacy Collection, so that means I've finally completed all the "Main Timeline Series" (11 Classic, 8 X, 4 Zero, 2 ZX, I haven't finished all the side games though).
